Victorian mail box.
I took this photograph in South Queensferry near the Forth Bridge. It was put in place during the reign of Queen Victoria 1837-1901. During her reign, in 1840, postage stamps were used and the sender, rather the recipient, was responsible for paying for the item. The person responsible for issuing them, but not one of the numerous claimants as to inventing them, was Sir Rowland Hill and British stamps remain the only ones in the world not to have the name of the country shown.
