As a resident of the San Luis Valley in Colorado, we are blessed in having the Great Sand Dunes National Park very close to our home. This past December, we took a family trip to the park and I was able to capture these close up images of the frozen windblown sand on the dunes while trying out my new digital SLR. The photos were taken using a 50mm manual lense looking straight down in bright afternoon light.
