    Edit Photo Details Red Breasted Sapsucker   #tree #red #woodpecker #sap #damage #sapsucker #washington_state
It was great to watch this red breasted sapsucker working on a young tree adjacent to my deck, however despite many articles explaining their precision in working the tree's outer ring without long term damage to the tree, this proved to not be true in this case and the tree would later die and snap in two just above the area shown, It was however a great show while it lasted.
