Take Flight
Thousands of carmine bee-eaters take off from their nesting grounds at sunset on the Sikunya Channel of the Zambezi River in northern Namibia's Caprivi Strip.
Two amateur bird ringers were attempting to ring several hundred of these birds in order to find out more information on where the birds migrate to after their breeding season finishes up.
Shot on a GoPro Hero4 triggered by the app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from about 15 metres away and edited in Light Room.
I love that you shot this frame from this low perspective. This decision makes the birds' take-off feel more dynamic, more epic. Fantastic frame.
