    Reported by:

Marcus Garvey has influenced not only my life, but others. He encouraged African Americans to stick to their roots and to fully embrace their cultures. Being born and raised in America, it is easy to fit in with the American culture because it is the norm. In certain areas of my life such as work, at times it feels as if I have to hide who I truly am to remain “professional” in a corporate environment. I am thankful for the values that Marcus Garvey stood for.
