The cinnaswirl Aurora appeared to be hovering over the majestic Kirkjufell Mountain... The majestic Kirkjufell is located on the north side of the Snaefellsness peninsula. Geologists estimate that the characteristic shape of this 794 meter (2,605 feet) isolated peak was formed during the last part the ice age as two adjacent glaciers influenced enormous pressure on a "nunatak" (high rock between two glaciers), which eventually resulted in the triangular shape seen today.
