Natural habitat loss in Hong Kong
Under improper population policy, urban planning policy and land allocation policy of Hong Kong, a new development project in NE part of Hong Kong will be launched in 2017. Even though the public voices strong opposition to this project, a total of 787 ha of natural habitats will be lost. The poor wildlife living in the lowland, such as this keelback (Amphiesma stolatum) in the photo, is facing being run over by bulldozers.
