Casa do Rio Vermelho, Salvador da Bahia
Casa do Rio Vermelho is the name of the residence where the couple of writers Jorge Amado and Zélia Gattai lived in the neighborhood of Rio Vermelho, in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.
The house has been turned into a memorial, which not only tells the story of their lives but also of the characters, costumes and signs that forged the identity of Bahia that Jorge Amado introduced to the world. The decoration of the kitchen ceiling caught my eye, so I decided to shoot right from below.
