As the sun began to set, I chased the last rays, drawn to the interplay of light on certain patches of trees. This tree, looking as though a modern day version of a Thomas Bewick engraving, caught my attention at just the same time, and I sat down at a picnic table in McKinney Falls State Park to photograph it. I'm intrigued by the play of light on the leaves of the tree and those of the tops of the trees in the background, while the overhead tree remained in the shadows. Taken March 20th.
