The Birds are Back
Every spring thousands of redwing blackbirds migrate back to Illinois farm country to mate and lay eggs. They appear in very long clouds flying through the sky. This particular flock was at least a mile long, flying horizontally with Interstate 80, which is just outside of our property. When they all came to a rest on our 15 acres, they took up every inch. They usually make their nests in the tall grass.
