Sleeping Beauty
At first I always feel a real sadness when I walk by Maria's grave, such a tragic event to die so young. Her tiny grave, almost forgotten, tucked away on an old hillside, surrounded by a few other forgotten souls, seems so lonely, yet I always leave feeling peaceful. The hillside is lovely, it is wooded, she is surrounded by deer, squirrels, green grass, wild flowers, dappled light filters through branches, so much more alive than a manicured lawn and the remains of store bought flowers.
