San Fratello - 2003: The ‘Giudei’ (Jews) run through the streets of the town for the entire Holy Week, blowing their trumpets and generally disturbing everyone, even the religious celebrations being held during the week.. According to the popular belief, they represent noisy and happy devils, wearing their colourful red and yellow costumes embroidered with pearls and gold braid epaulettes. Their black tongue represents the demons’ mendacious character.
