    Seal Pup Playing In The Surf. Grey Seals at Seal Bay in Wales United kingdom. The scientific name of the grey seal 'Halichoerus Grypus' comes from greek meaning 'hooked nose pig'. Grey seals can dive to depths of 70 metres when feeding. They come ashore to mate and to feed their pups, pups are fed on Mum's milk which is rich in fat allowing them to quadruple in size during the three-four weeks they are fed by Mum
