Some of the most beautiful, if not heartbreaking, scenes of Varanasi are the funerals on the banks of the Ganges. As a photographer, the hardest thing about capturing these moments are documenting these events while remaining respectful of the dead and those mourning. I captured this moment while on a quiet boat ride down the river.
