I took the challenge and studied the Pine Siskins to hand feed them on my deck. It took many months and patience to gain their trust. I found them to be very skittish as at the beginning even the smallest noise would make them fly away. Finally one gained trust and fed from my hand what a thrill and achievement. The feeling is amazing as they stay on the hand to feed and now they fly to to greet me when I go outside. I use my right hand camera, left hand for seed: needed a very steady hand
