I had just planted my garden that year when I woke up one morning and discovered a very large and old snapping turtle had disrupted everything. She was there for hours, slowly digging her hole, laying her eggs, covering them up, resting and walking around my garden several more times before she climbed onto the sidewalk, looked straight at me as if to say she was done now. She walked straight for me, rested in front of me only 3 feet away then headed back to the lake. We had a moment!
