Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA (outside of Washington DC) is a beautiful 100-acre property that includes small lakes, a Korean Bell Garden and dozens of other garden spots. Their extensive tulip gardens were the star of the show on my recent visit, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this Green Heron waiting for a meal. It stayed practically motionless for 15 minutes then caught a small fish and immediately flew off to enjoy the meal in private.
