I saw this woodpecker today. It is a male yellow-bellied sapsucker. The red feathers on his head really popped against the grey, outside.It appeared to have safety glasses. I believe they have a heavy eyelid, that they close when pecking, so they don't get something in their eye. / April 19, 2016 / Richibucto-Village, Kent County, NB, Canada.
