    This was taken at one of the locks called Pennyfield Lock on the C&O canal - a ~185 mile canal along the Potomac River (supposedly from Cumberland, MD to Washington, DC). The C&O canal trails are beautiful, and a favorite among birders (I was here early in the morning for birding). The house is still under use as an overnight lodge for people using the trails (I think; not sure of the rules.).
