After getting caught in a Bedouin tent in the Negev Desert of southern Israel during one of the biggest desert storms in decades, we realized the rain had washed sand over the roads by which we were supposed to leave. We were stranded. While at first it was nerve-wracking, I quickly realized the storm was a blessing in disguise. While stuck, I witnessed one of the most unusual phenomenons: a desert rainbow. Here it is sweeping the sky over our tour bus and the puddle-covered wet sand.
