    Back in the eighties my family farm house burnt down. A year after the fire, I dug a box of slides out of the ashes. . It was this that made me try to imitate them. This Kodacrome slide was painted with toxic household chemicals on the emulsion side and then burnt with fire twice. The first burning took the image off the slide, the second burning made the image reappear.
