    Here is something you don't see every day. The heron was extending its wings to block out the sun so it could see into the water. Almost like Polarized sun glasses. An elderly gentleman who watches these birds a lot said that on bright, sunny days the herons will do this and the minnows will go into the shade of its wings for cover. Silly minnows.
