    Reported by:

Throughout the year cows and bulls spend most of their time in small, separate herds only to band together in large numbers during the late summer mating season. Bulls select a possible mate and then begin tending to the cow. Tending is the act of standing between the cow and the herd. Bulls will head butt and shove other bulls if they come too close to the cow they are tending.
