Sunglow Pier, Old Wooden Charm
The Sunglow Fishing Pier in Daytona Beach Shores is one of the few remaining wooden piers along the Florida Atlantic coast. It was built in 1960. It has survived damage from hurricanes and other storms. The underneath of the pier is gorgeous. The wood is stained from the rusting hardware. Old pipes line the deck. I loved the crashing of the waves echoing from beneath this old structure.
