I was on a hunt for Northern Lights for several nights, to no avail. Upon returning from a two day trip, that included two nights of unsuccessfully witness the elusive Aurora Borealis, our guide, Thor, remarked that a park across from the place I was staying was a perfect place to see the lights. He said that you in fact can see them in the city, providing you can find a dark enough place. Per his advice I went to the park around midnight and was rewarded with an exceptional light show.
