Edit Photo Details The tranquil Merri Merri   #australia #landscape #waterbirds
The Merri Merri, as the local indigenous Wurundjeri people call it, is a thin ribbon of tranquil beauty that meanders down through Melbourne's northern suburbs to its confluence with the River Yarra not far from the CBD. I went down after one of the few decent spells on rain we had in the rather dry summer just passed and caught this Little Pied Cormorant drying himself in the sun after diving for fish. A Pacific Black Duck paddles off in the distance.
