Nasjonaldagen (Norway Constitution Day)
May 17 is the National Constitution Day for Norwegians, a holiday that commemorates Norway's independence after the Napoleonic Wars. My friends and I were lucky to find ourselves in Bergen on the day of the celebrations. It was amazing to see the streets flooded with happy (and drunk) citizens, most of whom were donning traditional Norwegian attire. Children would carry flags as well, painting the city streets with red, blue, and white.
