Crippled horse, Ethiopia
In October 2015 I was on the outskirts of Bale National Park in Ethiopia, eager to spot the rare Ethiopian wolf. Whilst at the entrance gate paying I noticed this white horse in the distance, standing very still for a long time so I took the opportunity to photograph him with the picturesque backdrop. At close proximity his broken foot was revealed, I pitied the poor animal. Suddenly the looming sky seemed to augur his sad fate...
