Petrified Trees in the Namibian Desert
This portion of the Sossusvlei desert of Namibia hosts petrified trees created when the dunes blocked the flow of a river to the coast. Having walked on the dunes and on the sun-baked clay among the tree skeletons, I was excited to fly over the same area and capture the whole geologic phenomena from the air
