Coming across this scene on a mountain trail immediately made me think of parallels between ants and the people of Cinque Terre. Much as ants work in unison to achieve the seemingly-impossible, local residents have come together over the centuries to build their homes along the Italian Riviera, battling the isolation and rugged steep cliffs to create a thriving beautiful community.
