David, the man that brought down the giant known as Goliath, in turn became a giant himself. Thanks to the help of Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, David has been preserved in marble as a towering man that stands over the visitors of the Galleria dell' Accademia. Both figuratively and literally David is now known for his imposing, awe-inspiring, and impressive stature which is showcased in Michaelangelo's masterpiece.
