Edit Photo Details Rocky Mountain Juniper
A 500-year-old Rocky Mountain Juniper from the Rocky Mountains in "The Unbridled Art of Ryan Neil" at the Japanese Garden. "The most rugged of all our native junipers, Rocky Mountain Junipers are capable of surviving the very harshest conditions. As such, it makes for a perfect representation of American ideals of perseverance and discovery. Those ideals are heightened in this example through the use of deadwood and asymmetry, capturing the centuries of struggle and survival the tree endured."
