I was aware of the possibility of a geomagnetic storm the night of June 5-6, but fell asleep until 2:30 AM. I awoke and quickly checked the satellite data: a G3 storm was forecast! I grabbed my camera and tripod, ran to the car, drove to an open area and began shooting by 3:15 AM. This picture was from 3:30 AM EDT (New York time). The storm quickly faded as June daylight invaded at 4:00 AM.
