Speckled Delight
Spotting elephants, lions, cape buffalos, rhinos and leopards are uppermost on everybody's mind when they are in Serengeti. The big 5 definitely deserve their star billing. No arguments there. But equally wonderful are the hundreds of other species that are intricately connected to the ecosystem. Amongst these are birds of every hue and colour, such as this Speckled Mousebird. We often used to ask our guide to stop the car in the middle of nowhere so that we could enjoy the cheerful birdsongs.
