A tsunami devastated the village of Jiquilillo in Nicaragua in 1992 destroying six blocks of the village; however, it remains an amazingly resilient community of about 135 families who continue to rebuild decades later. Mikaeling, pictured here with her brother Daniel, says she will continue in the footsteps of her mother to rebuild the community.
