Burabay National Park, in northern Kazakhstan, is known for its lakes and mountains. When I visited with a group of photographer friends, they took me for a hike up a steep mountainside to boulder-strewn hilltop overlooking a lake below. Prayer ribbons were tied on the scraggly branches of the wind-blasted trees. One member of our group climbed atop a flat boulder for a moment of prayer.

Great composition, you positioned yourself there to create depth in the image, leaving us a little sun to crack through the prayer flags, great!
