Lonely Sentinel
We came across this abandoned military cemetery while exploring Shirley's Heights National Park in Antigua. It's not something you'll ever find on the brochure, and we found it completely by accident while bushwhacking. Clearly left to fade into history, its cracked catacombs and faded tombstones serving as a last testament to the young men and women who died on this secluded island on the far side of the earth from their families and homes. **the average age on these markers was 28 years old.**
