Every time we travel from Sri Lanka's Hill Country to Colombo, just outside the town of Pelmadulla, we see this huge statue of Buddha at the Ganegame temple. I don't know its exact height, but you can see from the tall trees next to it, how it towers over the landscape. Normally, this rather smooth structure does not appeal to me, but on this occasion, the extremely bright light between two heavy showers, together with the flowers in full bloom on the tree, made it a memorable sight!
