Quietly, the Salton Sea holds onto the past while taking in the present. See the dead fish? On a trip back from AZ, I finally got to see the Salton Sea. This is Bombay Beach, whose community is very much alive, but quiet and introverted, with many dilapidated buildings. Locals drive out to the beach, in their golf-cart-type vehicles, and let their dogs run through the transparent-brown, weird and scary water.
