Who knew that when you pushed the 'Help' button on a subway ticket machine in Japan that a man would pop his head out of a window to assist you? Even though my wife and I speak and read Japanese, we had some trouble with buying the right subway tickets. Some friendly attendants came over to help us out, and even they seemed bewildered. Finally, one of them pushed a small 'help' button on the ticket machine, which caused a man to pop his head out of a small window to answer our questions.
