The Centrale Montemartini is a former electric plant active as a power station between the 1890 and 1930 in Rome. In 1997, the Centrale Montemartini was adapted to temporarily accommodate a part of the antique sculpture collection of the Capitoline Museum, at that time closed for maintenance. The temporary exhibition was very appreciated so then was converted into a permanent museum.
