When the Lions are Done
This eland antelope was killed by a pride of lions. The lions feasted on it for a while, but when the sun grew too hot they retreated into the shade. Immediately after the last lion left, the white-backed vultures converged on top of the kill and began to eat. Although this picture does not seem so chaotic, it definitely was! The birds were tearing at the animal so much that by the end there were even a few dead vultures! This was taken at the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
