    While watching a nesting loon, I kept hearing chirping sounds behind me. Whenever I'd look, I didn't see anything. I snapped a couple photos of the cavity in the Maple Tree anyway. When I uploaded them, I realized there had been a Northern Flicker chick there all along! (I did eventually see the parents feeding the young)
