Vertical Feeding
During the winter, juvenile male whale sharks gather in the Gulf of Tadjoura in Djibouti to feed on arrow worms and other tasty planktonic treats. If they find a patch dense enough, sometimes these small whale sharks will turn fully vertical in the water to suction the plankton from the surface layer.
