the beginning? Or the end?
I came across this egg next to the sidewalk this spring, and choose to believe that a live chick came out of it, and not the other possibility. It looks more like the shell was carefully pecked through, and not marauded by a hungry mammal, right? But then how did the shell end up on the driveway?
