This Killdeer is sitting on four eggs in a gravel parking lot where I work. I noticed this Killdeer nest on a day that some co-workers were parking in this lot and I hear one of the parents chasing someone away. The next morning I placed two stakes with red flags on either side of the nest to protect it. This bird didn’t move an inch the day that I took this photo. Unfortunately the eggs hatched over a weekend and the birds moved on before I could see the youngsters.
