On July 10th I took a long walk around the National Mall. Even though I live in the District and this area changes very little, I always enjoy the monuments, the gardens and the sights and sounds. Unlike many of the visitors, I'm not under any pressure to see everything, I just photograph whatever catches my eye. This is a typical Sunday afternoon on the Mall .... looking east toward the Washington Monument from the World War II Memorial.
