Each year thousands of people of all ages, mostly from rural Maharashtra undertake a 300 km trek from Dehu and Alandi to Pandharpur to have a holy dip in the river Chandrabhaga and a darshan of their God Vithoba at Pandharpur. They carry nothing beyond change of clothes and their entire daily requirements are met by the village folks enroute. They radiate happiness , warmth and love. I walked with them a little distance to savour the holy feeling. An experience of a lifetime
