    Reported by:

An overcast day at Hverarond Sulphur Pits. The black mud is a result of the highly acidic gases eating away at the ground. The area was once a sulphur mine before the temperatures underground became dangerously high, after which the area was abandoned. It was reopened as a tourist destination once the general area was improved to accommodate better footpaths and roads. While my Icelandic adventure was filled with overcast skies, I think this is the one location where it worked to my favor.
