Maritime Patrol aircraft are a crucial support element in the War on Drugs in the Caribbean and East Pacific. Flying out of South American countries, we spend long nights surveilling small drug laden Panga speedboats. After vectoring in Coast Guard aircraft and interdiction teams, the P-3 drops to a very low altitude to record footage of the take down for use in court later on. This pilot uses binoculars to maintain visual contact with a coast guard helicopter pursuing drug runners.
